My name is Jackie Villarreal Nájera. I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas in July of 1949. My first love is my family then, then comes archeology. I traveled to Israel to excavate in Hazor, a biblical city. I have traveled to about 45 states, I love to travel. I was a teacher for a while and also a substitute teacher. I was a special education paraprofessional. I also worked with the blind teaching braille. Yes, I can read and write braille. I graduated from college in 1972 and started my master’s program with only a few more classes to complete. We are 12 brothers and sisters in my family. I am 12 to 21 years older than some of my siblings. Dolores is my first cousin but we lived in the same household since my birth and I consider her an older sister too.
